Sr. Manager will provide technical and managerial leadership to thematic area of Child Protection and Child Rights Governance (CP&CRG). This position is required to seek out programming opportunities and ensure quality of programs. The position will work closely with MEAL to ensure that quality assurance mechanisms are in-place. The position holder will provide technical back stopping to teams and partners. The position holder will manage programs/projects on CP&CRG and will also engage at policy level changes. The position holder will work closely with civil society partners, networks and government counterparts. Being a budget holder, S/he will be responsible for budget tracking/monitoring, BVAs etc.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Child Protection and Child Rights Governance (Technical)
Overall responsible for development and implementation of the program strategy for CP & CRG theme.
Provide leadership for organising and strengthening civil society for monitoring of child rights with children, good governance and public investment in children
Facilitate government stakeholders to deliver child rights as enshrined in UNCRC
Design and lead research on child rights issues and policy environment around child rights
Facilitate thematic teams to incorporate CP&CRG into programming and ensure child participation in programme cycle
Ensure that technical guidelines are fully adhered on the design and quality implementation.
Define multi-stakeholder strategy and work with Child Rights and Advocacy team at the local, district, provincial and national level.
Design and contribute towards research into the lives of children and their communities, and the policies and practices on CP&CRG.
Provide technical backstopping to teams and partners for quality implementation of CP&CRG programmes
Ensure all the programs ( on going and new) follow the new SCI quality bench marks
Coordination with region, members and donors
Child Protection and Child Rights Governance (Program Implementation)
Manage CP&CRG teams and partners to deliver quality programs as per design, cost and time
Ensure MEAL system is in-place in all live grants with specific focus on evidence generation and learning
Make sure that programmatic learnings are feeding in new programming
Build the capacity of partners and CP / CRG teams for the programme implementation
Ensure review and reflection of the programs with respective CP & CRG Partner organizations
Conduct regular programmatic reviews with partners
Develop budgets for new programs and responsible for budget holding of live CP&CRG grants Represent SC at civil society and government forums and be part of the sustainable changes for children
Fundraising, communication and reporting:
A key priority of the position holder will be to mobilise resources for implementation of CP & CRG strategy.
Maintain regular contact and working relations with the donors and members, seek opportunities and develop grant applications/proposals in thematic areas of his/her responsibility.
Ensure submission of quality submission of periodical and final donor reports
Technical support to the team for development and implementation of advocacy and communication plans of live grants
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Masters degree in social sciences preferably in Child Rights or relevant degree from a well reputed university
Proven minimum 5 to 7 years experience which comprises of 4 to 5 years experience of developing and managing CP&CRG programs.
Demonstrated experience managing complex operations in development and emergency situations
Experience in child protection, child rights governance, gender, disability and working with Govt., communities, NGOs, and donor agencies.
Strong understanding of relevant ministry and structure of line departments for National/ Provincial and District level
Good understanding of child rights issues in a development and humanitarian context.
Experience of developing quality donor reports
Excellent communications skills
Ability to establish partnerships and networks
Ability to write clear and concise reports
Ability to work independently to a high professional standard
Sensitive to the cultural & political environment
Fluent spoken & written English language
Prepared to work and live in challenging surroundings.
Knowledge of Pakistan and Region
Working knowledge of Pakistani languages.
